The Millennium Development Goals Report 2011

June 1, 2011

The UN Secretary General’s MDG Report 2011 presents the most up-to-date information on the progress made to reach the Millennium Development Goals by the internationally agreed deadline of 2015.

As in the other annual editions, UNICEF, in close collaboration with UN agencies and Member States, is making a direct contribution to the dissemination and use of information for decision making. The UN Statistics Division (UNSD) is responsible for coordinating the preparation of the UN annual assessment of progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Since 2005, UNICEF has been actively collaborating with UNSD in this effort. UNICEF’s Data and Analytics (D&A) Section has provided most of the data, as well as the regional and global analysis for MDG 1 (hunger), MDG 4 (child survival), MDG 5 (maternal health), MDG 6 (HIV/AIDS and malaria) and MDG 7 (water and sanitation).
